• Winter is Upon Us

The snow has begun to fall and we are reminded that it is the holiday season.  Many are out trying to find that special gift for thier loved ones, but the greatest gift to us was the birth of a child in a manger so many years ago.  In Luke 2:8-20 we read the account of the shepherds out in the field and when an angel came to declare, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased."  A child born in a manger who was to bring salvation to all mankind.  The angel declared " I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people."

Christ the Lord was born in order to die for us!   It is not enough to take time once a year to celebrate this great event proclaimed by angels!  We must celebrate the birth of "our Savior, who is Christ the Lord."  Let all mankind declare this good news to all people and rejoice!  In Matthew's accout in chapter 2 we have recorded for us the arrival of the Magi.  The Magi were looking for the "King of the Jews" having followed His star from the east.  Many people celebrate this event as well on January 6th known as the feast of the Epiphany, known to some as "Little Christmas" to honor the bringing of the gifts.  No matter how we celebrate this great event it is important to recogonize that His birth became our rebirth, His death become our death and His resurection becomes our resurection.
